  • If you have time for it, and it doesn't interfere with your studies, yes. I started working at 14 and believe that I learned good work skills, how to follow instructions of supervisors, and also started to learn how to handle my own money/checking account.
  • Yes, you can earn a little extra money and make some new friends at work too.
  • Of course, you will like having your OWN money and not leeching from people. I always hated being the one that didn't have anything, or had to ask my mom for money. It feels good when you spend and save your own money, once you get your own car and place, ii gets really fun.
  • Yep. Got my first job a 15, it really builds character and you dont realise how many people skills ect you learn until later on. +£££

  • It is essential to have a job even it is for no pay... Why? Cause we learn soooo much and it is great for our future lives. we learn discipline, scheduling time, taking orders, working with people whom we probably didn't know before. Andd it you do get paid - learn NOT to spend but a portion of it. No matter how little or how much is earned, some should be saved. If for no other reason than to discipline us for money management. And don't ever say -I'll start saving next paycheck, because you never will if you don't start with the first one.

I didn't learn ALL about business, but it gave me a major appreciation for those who work in retail, and taught me, partially, how to separate work from play. I never became the work-a-holic many can, but I learned HOW to work, and enjoy it as much as possible, even when I DIDN'T like it that much. Another advantage? I had my own money to spend on whatever I wanted. Now, Dad made me buy my own car and gas, but... ;-)
