  Part of it is that whoever holds the office of the presidency is entitled to respect, but mostly it's that I find it profoundly disrespectful toward what this country is supposed to be about.

  We have our say, we speak our minds, we cast our votes and we've made a promise to each other to respect the outcome. Sometimes you win. Sometimes I win. Either of us may disagree with the result. Either of us might attempt (and has the right to attempt) to overturn it.
  .
  But there's an "I'm going to take my ball and go home" crowd (on both sides of the aisle) that needs to go back to kindergarten because it's clear they missed something important that the rest of us learned.

  --By the way, if you're a veteran, don't expect any of that commie special assistance for school, housing or medical stuff. This is America!

• Just because there is a reason for doing it doesn't mean it is right, or even justifiable. Just because we can understand the reason for bombing Japan doesn't mean it was okay. I honestly can't think of a justification for killing thousands of people indiscriminately. Security is nowhere near being a defensible reason.

The guerrillas, after all, were terrorizing the country, so they were justified in massacring whole villages, because those people were supporting the guerrillas. Weren't they? We have a similar situation now, and your desire for a quick, violent solution demands innocent sacrifice whether you like it or not.
