I am a liberal. I didn't vote for George W. Bush either time he ran for President, and I wasn't happy that he won either time.
    .
But he was no less my President because of that. (Full disclosure -- I worked for him for the first four years because I was asked to, and because it was on an issue that we did agree on.)
    .
I heard some fellow liberals saying that he was not their President. Just like I've heard folks on the right saying that President Obama is not their President.
    .
    Both are wrong.
    .
Your question implies that you intend to let the worst elements of the other party determine the standard for what you do.
    .
I'd ask you not to go there. When someone on the other side does something unethical or disrespectful, they are effectively ceding the moral high ground to you. That's an asset you should not give up.
    .
Unethical attacks from the other side are things you should rise above -- not copy.

Barack Obama isn't an idiot. He isn't the worst President in history. So, you don't have to be embarrassed to have him as your President, like we had to be with Bush. That's the difference!

Ignore them. This "He's not my President" is school yard foolishness. Like it or not Barrack Obama is the POTUS, before that It was George Bush. If they don't like the way things are then it is not only their right but their duty to try and change it. Instead they're over there pouting in the corner like a five year old.
Not only that, "ALL" legislation begins in the Congress. Congress should be the focus. What better way to let the President know the attitude of the nation than through the legislation the peoples representatives deliver to him for his signoff.

Oh ye of the short term memory loss...

May I direct you to the 8 years of Clinton, wherein the Republican/Fascists proclaimed at every opportunity that he wasn't their President?

In others, we learned well your lessons.

That's it, stupid is as stupid does. They say so I can too, smart. Just because some liberal asshole says something that gives you the impetuous to do so yourself, great. Good thinking!!!!!!

Just because a group of people say something it does not make it true nor right, it does not mean you should feel the same way and it does mean it gives you the right to do it yourself.

You argument in logic is one of the most asinine things I have read here.

what president has liberals ever said WAS their president?

ive just never read where any president was a president of liberals....so, i am curious....

i dont think i have ever read where the liberal was loyal to any president....or our military either , for that matter....

liberal means no "stand", loyal to none....

the liberals are just that...dissention and division is their JOB....they choose no side, just to keep pitting against all sides.....

personally, no president has been "MY" president since Ronald Regan
sure he had issues, sure he had mental problems but when some foreign devil started something "pimp smack, b'atch" he finished it
if the terrorists had pulled 9/11 back then, those afgan mountains would have been a parking lot
