He did you a big favor. They usually don't give you time to get your stuff out of the car. They usually just hook up and take it, no questions asked. Of course, sometimes thats a bit overboard, as they repossessed a car around here with the kids still in it recently. That repo man got in a lot of trouble over that one.
If they're repossessing your car, you should remove your belongings from the car and then "fight" it with your loan company or bank. The repo people are just following their orders from them.

Is it legal for a car to repossessed after 2 yrs when it is listed as a charge off, can they keep anything "installed/mounted" in vehicle?

You're reading Im in Illinois can a repo man knock & call my house at 2:30am tell me to come to get my things out of the car & when I got outside I polite told him not to take my car and he stated that I had to get my things out and give him the keys.
