I'm sure the products in question help many people. but at the same time, i agree with you, they may exacerbate the many myths that are prevelent in our society as we know it, almost as if they are deliberately marketed in a manner to encourage the 'market' to widen. Everyone is perfect, no one has any problems, and if you cant maintain a 4 hour erection there is something wrong with you. I used to brag about an hour, yet to hear the commercial, there may be something wrong with me.

Selling prescription medicines on TV is outlandish. It should be illegal. Isn't it law that only your doctor can prescribe this stuff for you? Then why not just tell your doc your problems and let him prescribe treatment, like back in the good old days. Plus, ED commercials really throw me off my program I'm watching. Should we really have to watch that kind of stuff? Isn't anything private anymore?

They certainly try to drum up business. If you watch the subtel messaging, you will note that some are targeting their message to those who may not really need the medication, but can be convinced that taking it will improve their lives. After all, health care is already nearly 20% of the US gross domestic product and has been growing at 3 times the rate of inflation for decades. To twist a phrase, "There's gold in them there pills."
