Oh come on! lol, not fair skidoo. The Bible never said we were free from worring about lightning

I think most Christians feel that prayer should take up where adequate preparation can no longer take you. :)

It was meant tongue in cheek. But you've heard the expression about there being no atheists in a foxhole? I find it amusing that many (most) religious people live life *as if* god wasn't there and/or didn't intervene. Such as this case shows.
.
I know there are a few people who refuse medical treatment in factor of prayer - and they tend to die at rate so much higher than the general population that most western countries have made it illegal for such people to refuse treatment for underage children.
.
Just my observation... :-)

Being a christian doesn free you from taking care of yourself. You need lightning rods on your buildings (even churches) and you need medical treatment if something happens, even if your the Pope.
by Mikelbf2000 on July 20th, 2009
True enough :-)

Yep. I don't see the Bible teaching to be careless. I took it as tongue and cheek humor, 23Skidoo. And that's how I meant the question. But I don't want to demean our friends of faith unfairly.

Unfairly? Never :-)
I wouldn't expect anyone of intelligence to go overboard with faith either. I'm sure the most devout buy food and all.

:) OK, point taken.
