  • if they were hurt or can convince the courts they were hurt you face a lot.
  • Do you have liability insurance? As long as it wasn't a hostile and intentional rear-ending, I would assume that as long as you have liability insurance to cover the damage that you did to that car, that you have nothing to worry about.
  • In the UK you would face charges relating to tailgating (specifically 'inconsiderate and aggressive driving'), possibly even dangerous driving. If the impact caused injury, such as whiplash, you may be liable to compensation claims. In future, drive further away from the vehicle in front, especially if you're driving someone elses car!!
  • As long as you have full coverage insurance or at the very least liability insurance you shouldn’t have to worry. Your insurance will take care of it... this is coming from someone who has been in 7 accidents and 4 were my fault.
