it s one of those big trucks that come along your street at five o clock in the morning making all that godawfull noise.
In soccer (or Futbol, you silly Europeans), it refers to the player that is essentially given free reign of the field , not restricted to any particular position, for their team. A sweeper can and will play both offense and defense for their team. When I played back in my teens, the sweeper was the one person on the team who was the most skilled, in both stamina and kick targeting.
