Help answer this question below.
It should be common sense. Come on now...this is America. Nothing is private. Nothing.
Certainly did, dont have anything identifiable on my profile.
I have no qualms about stating my first name, or the area of the country in which I live. I state my real age and birth date in my profile.
I would not disclose more than that here, because there is always the chance in a social network that you will express an opinion that angers some whack-job and they will come looking for you. Personally, I feel quite capable of meeting such nuts at the door and taking them out of their pain permanently if need be, but many may not be prepared to do that and who needs the trouble?
Personal information such as your Social Security Number, bank account number and credit card numbers should NEVER be disclosed in any public setting as it is the material identity thieves need to steal money from you and run up debts that will end up charged to you.
Charlie!!! What did you do? By personal info do you mean bank stuff and addresses? I never ask for that kind of thing! Did they to you?
Is this your first time on the internet?
You are quite right.
I never ask for personal data that could be used to find a person. Nor does most 'old-timers'.
But it takes learning. We all know the Web is different from real life, but somehow we all start out believing the web rules are exactly the same as the real-life rules we know. They are not, and we have to learn what they are.

dear charliels, question. if i answer your person question asking about my personal opinion, am i providing you with personal information that could be dangerous? also, rcasha, i'm avoiding the use of all capital letters to balance out others' overuse of them. peace!
Good for you. Now learn where to place capital letters in a sentence. :)
in CA: My loud neighbor was told she has no vocal privacy. Is it ok to run an ambient record in my own bedroom that also records her?
