Every kind of law is recession proof. The First Principle™, upon which all of the Universe is founded, is "The Lawyers Always Get Paid, No Matter What".

Not all law is recession-proof--my practice felt the effects of the economy. Companies going under; insurance companies filing bankruptcy; individuals' savings being depleted and nothing for an initial retainer. I had lunch with a patent attorney last week and he said his practice had not yet been effected and it stands to reason that patent lawyers are a lot further away from the swirling vortex of doom than most other areas of law. More recession proof than patent law--BANKRUPTCY law.

No law is proof against any concentrated effort by lawmakers to reverse or rewrite it.
