No - you have to do it the other way around. Get your green card first, then join the Army. Foreign nationals can join the US Military but only if they are already legally admitted (i.e. green card) immigrants. Military service can reduce the normally required residency before becoming a CITIZEN from 5 years to 3 years, but you have to be a legal permanent immigrant.
Yes and some few are awarded citizenship too.
