An esophageal pouch (diverticulum) does not normally require treatment. They are most often symptoms of an underlying condition, and as such, are not generally regarded as the actual source of difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) or esophageal motility (the transfer of food from your mouth to the gastrointestinal organs of digestion). If you haven't already, be sure to consult a qualified gastroenterologist to diagnose and discuss and the specific cause and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Best of luck!
