A mausoleum is an above-ground tomb, containing crypts (enclosed spaces) for one or more casketed bodies. It may be a two-crypt private mausoleum for husband and wife, or it can be a high-rise building with many floors, each with four or five tiers of crypts. The crypts in some mausoleums are all inside; others may have some or all crypts on the outside walls, opening from the outside.
