The backhand is tough for most people. What you need is to learn the proper technique for a badminton backhand swing, then practice it without trying to use much power. Once you have the technique down, then start developing power. This training video explains the technique well

Facing the net, you need to place your right foot a long way directly in front of your left. Rotate your upper body as far to the left as you can and take the racket over your shoulder. Then lean forward and rotate towards the target and flick the racket at the last moment. It take timing but you will get twice the power. Always do the same movement even on gentle shots to provide deseption. +3
My 8 yr daughter just stared badminton and in searching for a raquette i was told to buy a smaller one to fit her size, any thoughts ion this?

You're reading I really SUCK at backhand in badminton!! What things could i do to to improve on that? (eg. wrist exercises, etc)
