It depends on who you talk to, however most of them seem to be in favor of pursuing HUMAN interests rather than ecological ones, because what is good for humanity (and not other species) and the pursuit of human freedom is most highly valued.
I am a libertarian and I think global warming is mostly a natural cycle. However that is my own opinion.
I don't think that Libertarianism addresses that. It's more about limited government and personal freedom. I imagine a survey would find libertarians that range from complete global warming deniers to dedicated environmentalists. They would tend to agree that whether it is real or not, you should leave it up to each individual to decide what they alone are going to do about it. They would be against government efforts to control it.
I think we all agree we need to do something..some of us just faster then others. I would like to see some Wind Energy..put those things up! I bet Nebraska could energize at least the west coast:):)
They probably believe in it, though likely for slightly different reasons than the majority of the Democrat and/or liberals.
If there is global warming, it is because of all of the latter day hot air. Politics, ahem. :)
Is there any valid position, whether Libertarian or not, other than that global warming is BAD and should be stopped if possible?
Global warming? Look back through history, we have been experiencing wierd weather ever since they started recording it.
It definately answers it. The Libertarian position on global warming and/or the environment is that we should protect our earth and keep it from decaying but it hopefully the people and buisnesses will do something about it. They believe the gov't should stay OUT of the subject.
Why do some liberals consider anyone that disagrees with them a neo-con?
