I live apart from my Mother, my Mother got a boyfriend 9 years after my Father's death. The boyfriend was diagnosed with Bone Cancer only a short while ago and his family seems to waiting for him to go at any moment, even though he seems to be enduring the disease as well as expected for someone 82 years old. Well, I do like the man, didn't really get to know him as well as I probably could of, but we are certainily around each other from time to time. Cant say the same for his own children and other realatives. Can't really say what the deal is with them. When my mother told me his kids rarley come by and his loss of appetite I went and purchased food I've known him to like while healthy, drove over to their place and while he was resting I sat on his edge of the bed. The man woke up and smiled at me with Wide eyes. I said to him "I heard you were not doing too much eating" He seemed to come more alive, never said a thing. Just smiled and ate what he could keep down.

Darned if I can really remember. Not that I don't do them, just that I do them often enough. My memories aren't very linear most of the time. The all fade together without time frames. Let me see.... I like the significant ones but I think the very last one was that I bought some school supplies for the children of deployed soldiers today. It wasn't much but it was something, I guess. :-)
In our big city the firemen take a fire truck to the grocery store so they can respond while they're away from the station. A couple of them were in front of me in line when they had to immediately leave, lights flashing-telling the clerk to hold the bags and they'd come back.
I paid for their groceries so that when they came back an un-named "appreciative citizen" had taken care of their bill.
