  • I am not so sure that it applies to many people. I think a lot of people believe you shouldn't judge, or be prejudiced against obese people. A lot of us think it is wrong to be cruel to a person who is morbidly obese. However that doesn't mean that we think there is nothing wrong with it, there is, I guess we try to be sympathetic that's all. There are exceptions though, and I have no idea what is going through these people's minds - like feeders, the parents of these morbidly obese teenagers. It's crazy and very selfish. I don't know how a mother or sibling can stand by and support the conditions to allow their loved one to be morbidly obese when it can so easily result in their imminent death. I have seen so many documentaries in which days after drastic surgery, the parents are buying them fast food. WTF?
  • im morbidly obese, its the drink you know! but until i do something about that, well, you know how it is. who knows you may develop a drink problem one day yourself, or even thyroid disorder- or become morbidly obese when youre a pensioner? who knows?
  • The people who sympathise with fat people are either fat themselves or to pc. I look at fat people with disgust because it's horrible the way there letting themselves go and if it was upto me I would never let a fat person have free medical care because it's self inflicted. I'm just sick of people saying 'oh you shouldn't offend fat people', why the hell shouldn't I? They know what there doing, they know what we think of them and I'm not gonna give in to this pc rubbish. Fat people are ugly pure and simple. If anyone's offended by my comments then tough, I state the facts.
  • There's a difference between thinking there's nothing wrong with it and being empathetic towards the plight of overweight people. I suspect that when you talk about people who think there's "nothing wrong" with it, you're referring to those in the latter category. Of course, I can kind of understand what you're saying. I have a few morbidly obese relatives, and it's heartbreaking to sit there and watch them do absolutely nothing about it. With that said, there's a strong genetic component to obesity. While it doesn't make weight loss impossible, it does limit the amount of weight a person can lose. Hell, I watched a news special about morbidly obese people, and some of them couldn't lose weight even with intense exercise. They could lift heavy weights and their vitals were healthy; they were just overweight and nothing changed that. Try not to be too judgmental of the obese. After all, it's a minority category that anyone could be a member of at any time in their lives.
  • Because they are not pure evil.
