Help answer this question below.
yes.....no........i think its wrong to offer them education and recreation......AND FOR US TO PAY FOR THEIR CRIMES......they need to earn that cell....grow their own foods, work at a trade to pay for their own incarceration.....a bed ,commode is all they deserve......i think 'visitation' , apart from civilization, should be NON EXISTANT....they lost all civil and social life and privledge when they committed the crime......i think the 'chain gangs' and 'pea farms' were JUST for the UNJUST.....
If jail was luxurious, people wouldn't mind hurting others to be put there. How many crimes that would fall just under the death penalty punishment would be committed if criminals knew they could spend the rest of their lives in a resort?
No why should they get to live comfortable, they lost there rights when they did what they did, i think criminals got it better then we do, they get free food that we paid for, a shower water we pay for, a bed we pay for should i go on.
No. If they committed a crime that is bad enough to make them end up jail, then they deserve to sit in a tiny cell.
Jail isn't supposed to be a nice place. Anf for those kids who get caught with half an ounce of pot it should be a learning experience, the lesson being, "Pot is illigal, don't smoke it.". If the experience is bad enough it might discorage most reasonable people from doing it again.
they get what they receive. cant complain.
They are paying for their crimes. The accommodations shouldn't be exactly spacious or luxurious.
Jail/prison is not a five star hotel.
There are so many criminals, that the cells have to be small.
Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time!
Ever heard of that?
That can of worms is called punishment or rehabilitation.
The jail cell should be sized according to the crime the criminal committed. If he's a murderer-- cram him inside a cage with 2 other chickens--no 'free range' here. If the crime was child molestation, the cage should have only enough room to stand up straight--no elbow room and no sitting down...oh yeah, and the other inmates should be allowed to take punches at him several times a day.
Don't do the crime if you don't want to do the time. I am so sick and tired of criminals claiming that they are victims. They chose to do what they did. They are getting punished for it. Period. It was their choice.
Prison is suppose to be a punishment not some five star resort its made to systematically reduce crime from fear of going back or going to jail.
Not bad if they don't try to cram to many in one spot or riots break out over time. Not all criminals are the same. Some never learn and some do. I've been locked up before and learned. I didn't care much how small the space was as long as i wasn't bothered by other jerks. Overcrowding can get a lot of innocent people killed..it happens to often too. On the other hand if they're to spread out guards can't keep tabs on them. A happy medium helps. A lot of people think, Tough luck. They committed a crime, pay!
The problem is things like prison rape happen all to often to young, inexperienced inmates and whether anyone likes it or not rape is NOT part of the punishment, never was and never should be. To many people like to joke about it, but it destroys peoples minds over time.
We put people in prison to learn, not to become even worse than before they go in, but that's the effect to often.
They are not there for vacation!
Well, we could simply kill them all and not worry about it, no?

Actually, we have one of the largest and most cumbersome prison systems in the world. We worry that we are not being draconian, that we are being humane. We are concerned with nutrition of inmates, we are concerned with their education.
Wouldn't it have been more beneficial to be concerned about these things before the prisoners became criminals?
Maybe if we did not force people who were unprepared for parenthood to be parents, they would not raise children who grew up in such dire conditions.
They should bring back stocks and birdcages
Aside from the fact that many people are unjustly imprisioned, jail is for punishment. It sickens me when actual criminals are given any rights whatsoever. I hate it that jails are used to house unfortunates who don't belong there. So it is a two edged sword. For those who have been convicted of severe crimes, they should be punished, not coddled.
"Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."
They should consider themselves lucky they're not boxed in coffins.
My boss has been told that I said he is not the father of his child. He won't tell me who so I can't confront them is this slander

You're reading Do you think it is right on how small the jail cells are for criminals? do you think it is wrong to keep them contained in such a small area?

so just because someone smoked some weed they deserve to excommunicated from the outside world like a murderer? its a case by case situation and is much easier to generalize. Also think about it, most criminals are lower class citizens, lower class citizens dont have the money to pay for education, give an education and most likely it will turn their life around and will become a better citizen and stop the crime.

the amount of debt one would go into in their position tho would scare just about anyone. Yes its possible, but highly unlikely. Not to mention most lower class people(which will be assumed to be the ones doing the crimes in my stance) are taking care of a family too.
