Buyer. He would buy raw materials (cloth, buttons, zippers, etc) in bulk and have it made into clothing to specifications written by the company's designers. He was responsible for the whole process for selected products, denim being one. I was never short for jeans or denim jackets when he had that job. But I was often the "guinea pig", testing various manufacturers' samples.

Mechanic. First as a USAF mechanic for planes with 4 or more engines, then different mechanic jobs throughout his life. He's no longer working but he is still very much in love with his ability to fix things :)

At first he was an industrial electrician, but some of those jobs were dangerous. When he was 50, he changed jobs to working where they distribute pharmaceutical equipment and destroy old medicine.
