Help answer this question below.
No, babies aren't even self-aware by the time they're born so there's no-way they could be aware of another beings consciousness.
Great question. I don't know if there is any evidence to prove that a woman's baby is aware of their mother's consciousness. But I don't think its far-fetched at all.
Take, for instance, the fact that a baby can hear sound through her belly. Babies, even unborn babies are actually very smart, which I think is apparent by the rate at which they develop (fast!!!!!!). I don't think learning begins when they're born, I think it begins within.
Example: Babies know their mother's voice before they are born, which is why they're more comfortable with it than anything else post-birth. If a pregnant woman's voice is calm, I would be led to believe the baby would be of that demeanor. If the woman's voice is constantly angry however, I would assume the baby would be conditioned to that tone of voice.
So, ahhhhh I mean I don't know. How can we know these things?
That's what is so interesting about new life, we can never, ever really know what they know, think, or have the ability to comprehend.
Personally, deep down, I feel that they are aware of our consciousness because our consciousness turns into chemicals in our body. The chemicals and hormones our bodies release, whether they know it or not, tell a great story about what is going on with us.
Even though I didn't answer well, your question provoked a lot of thought so kudos.
I do not think my son new my conscience while in utero, but I do know I read, sang, talked, and laughed alot. At 5 he read on the 12th grade level, and spoke two languages at 6. They hear, feel, and do remember emotions, the mother feels. I've seen live movies of a Dr. aborting babbies that are trying to move away from the forcepts being used to remove them from the womb, so they do know fear,BUT...it may come from the mothers emotions during consciouness.
No
Difficult to answer. Consciousness is not physical growth to know from outside. This is related to the human ego called "I". We do not know when the ego or I-ness sets in for us.
good question, but absolutely not, the babies brain is not yet developed to that point, i dont even know what part of the brain that would be, the part than concieve conciousness
umm they arent the same person you know lol...but i dont think a baby is fully aware of anything until its actually born
You are only aware of what you see around you, so the baby is only aware that he/she is inside the mother, not exactly you, that why children yet parents mixed up, sad really.
The letter if is very difficult to understand here. There is no 'if' when a person is aware of consciousness. She is or isn't.When the mother is aware she engulfs the entire being which means the supposedly split consciousness of the baby is also hers!Consciousness is One!
Only if their minds were somehow 'melded', huh?
;-)
Maybe you can answer this yourself if you think about the answer to this question: Do you believe for a moment that your mother was unaware of her own consciousness while she was pregnant with you?
No, unless the baby is telepathic.
I am not a baby but I am not able to sence the existence of another consciousness. From the saying 'I doubt, I think, I am', I am able to prove to myself that I have a consciousness but I don't know about you.
No, infants are not even SELFaware until after birth.
unborn Babies are not self aware, far from being able to understand the self awarness / consciousness of others.
Being aware of the surounding environment is not the same as being self aware.
Children start to become self aware at around a few months old and it becomes ever more complex as their understanding grows.
It takes some time before they can separate their awarness form others around them..
the easy way to know when this has happend is that they become aware that what you know and what they know are two separate things, then they start to tell little white lies ; - )
