Help answer this question below.
Fiction? Create a world and a set of characters, then give them a problem to solve. Work on it and fill in the blanks a little at a time until you have a book.
What kind of book? You'll need basic writing skills, research skills, and organizational skills. And most importantly, you need a fire burning in your gut.
One word at a time
The number one way to write a book is to spend several hours every day writing. You have to get the words out of your head and put them down somewhere, usually on the computer, these days.
If you don't have any words that want to be written out, then maybe writing a book isn't one of your talents. Most writers tell me that the words practically fight to be put down on 'paper' or whatever you are using.
