    A website is a design, and content. Before XML, you had to code the content into the design. XML allows you to provide only content, so that anybody can style it anyway they want.

    the whole RSS and web 2.0 craze is all about xml.

    Namespaces in XML is a way to categorize XML tags. Specifically it is used so that no 2 systems talking to each other get confused and use the same namespace name. You can read more about namespaces at w3c.org.
