Is the Jackson memorial service nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt at promotion - to keep his name in the public eye or is that the view of a cycnic?

I'm not a Micheal Jackson fan - I prefer country music. For those who are his memorial is the opportunity to pay their repects and bid him farewell. He will be missed by many and remembered with or without attending the memorial.

Whatever it is meant to be, it will be yet another opportunity for the endless parade of celebrities to get in front of a camera and shows the rest of us how wonderful they all are.
