The latter. That's what I believe, since you asked for my opinion.

I think he had some king of disease near his nose but regarding the white skin, the issue was that he had cosmetic artificial surgery of skin and this skin can be of any color that the person likes, I think he had liked that color!

I think he really had Vitiligo. At first he used make-up to keep his face black. But his disease was so much taking over, his dermatologist advised him to bleach the rest of his skin. Anyway, that seems to be the story. They say that at the autopsy, the skin on his chest looked like a leopard with all the spots. http://floacist.wordpress.com/2007/08/30/michael-jacksons-vitiligo-discussion-6/ http://blog.taragana.com/e/t/vitiligo-scars/

i think he was bleaching his skin to cover up something, either a skin disease or a personality disorder.

YES I DO. I THINK HE BLEACHED HIS SKIN TO EVEN IT OUT. IF YOU EVER SAW VITILIGO ON AFRICAN AMERICANS IT IS PATCHY AND LOOKS TERRIBLE.
-
IM ALMOST SURE he depleted his MELANINE on his skin... bringing hell to his skin, plus all the re-shaping in surgery... only to look as White as possible... Didn't mom tell him about whitey ? ;p

I think he had Vitiligo, and then bleached his skin so that he would be the same color all over his body, as opposed to appearing splotchy.

Yep. He had it... See the following videos for proof: http://uk.youtube.com/watch http://uk.youtube.com/watch http://uk.youtube.com/watch http://uk.youtube.com/watch http://it.youtube.com/watch (Anchorman with it.) And, yep... He was either bleaching his skin, or had the medical treatment to remove the color once covering the diseased (white) patches became too much to deal with that way. Besides, as a dancer/performer, he sweat a lot, therefore, makeup would only last so long. Even so, he still had blotches you can see in some of the videos.
