The military is not actually desparate for recruits as much as they are finding it harder to find GOOD recruits, as in someone who can read, speak something that sounds like English , is willing to take direction and training without getting defensive or hostile, and can face challenges and personal disappointment without acting out. That is the recruit problem according to my friends who are still in the service.
Foreigners do. But even they get vetted first.
Certain laws get in the way of recruiting kids.
We have many other countries involved in our wars right now. Allies, This should be enough...But we rarely hear about them.
American foreign legion huh? Kill as many people as you want, and if you manage to evade your own national authorities and get here, we'll give you a gun.
