Ethiopia's original name was Abyssinia.
Between 1936 and 1941, together with Italian Somaliland and Eritrea, it briefly formed Italian East Africa.
Abyssinia means the conquerors of Arab, the king of Arabs.
It was pronounced similar to, "Ill be seein' ya."
