  • Monocots and dicots are both groups of angiosperm that contain seed leaves called cotyledons. Monocots contain a single cotyledon. They have a parallel system of veins and their vascular bundles are unorganized. Monocots have fibrous, shallow roots and an herbaceous stem. Dicots have a pair of cotyledons, and are therefore more complex than the monocots. They have a network of veins and an organized vascular bundle. Dicots have a single main root with many small extensions. They include trees and bushes. This was my last biology lab of the year. Good thing I saved my notes.
