As a webmaster, designer myself. The board administrator is most likely mistaken. Your IP Address is not associated with your browser, but the internet service you have, your location, type of connection, etc.

Chances are, you have either 1. Actually been banned, and the board admin doesn't want to explain it to you, or 2. Someone else on your computer has been banned from the same board or 3. While in the process of banning someone, the admin mistyped, or included your IP addy in the ban, somehow.

The board administrator would need to do the research, by getting your IP address, and searching for it in their banned logs.

If your browser had anything to do with IP, then no one with IE would be able to be part of the board, and that would pretty much render the board useless--considering IE is the most popular browser in the world.

    Hope I helped!
