they lose value more when they catch on fire ! i also have a 75 with the individual letters and i piece rear bumper and never experienced the excessive heat in the inside of the car situation that heat shield i think is a 1975 heat shield only the reason i think this is because there was 1 for sale on e bay or craigslist i forget which and written in the ad it stated that and like a idiot i thru that out when i chopped off the cat. not to be a dick but these cars are only worth 5 grand so if you butcher it it really doesn't matter to me performance is more important and at 165 hp i'll take all that i can get so chcek to see if the correct heat shield is on or like you said look into buying a set of side pipe 's and do you want to buy my 75 for 2,500 it has a rod knock and is in primer and i want to get rid of it if so get back
No, you can't easilly use sidepipes with converters.
Check to make sure the water valve is completely turning off the heater.
check to see if the heat shield is still on the catalytic converter in connecticut if a car is 25 yrs old you can cut off the cat and replace it with a piece of pipe

You're reading I Have a 1975 corvette and there is a lot of heat inside the cab is this something normal.If so would side pipes help this problem?
