Windows breaking, men screaming as they are jumping out of buildings.

The sound of change falling out of pockets lol. I had another answer a second ago, but I don't think it would be appropriate. Let's just say it may also sound like several large thuds.
The sounds of anguish from everyone who has made money their god and their security. For some, that includes the sounds of gunshots or bodies falling from great heights. The uncle of a friend of mine shot himself the day after the 1929 crash. The ironic thing was, his family didn't lose the mansion he'd just completed. His kids grew up in it. So he couldn't have lost everything.
The sound of a person screaming as they plummet 10 stories to the ground.

Except the many sounds of muffled gun shots coming from the suites of business tycoons.

I bet gun shots. Because a lot of people invested their hard earned money in it, and lost it all due to the crash. I know my stock was worth $83 dollars a share five years ago, luckily I sold it at 58 dollars. Because now its worth around 2 dollars. ha ha...
the stock market crash is followed by massive economic crisis, with lots of firms going bust and lots of people throwing off their jobs typically.
KABOOM!! followed by lots of whining heard round the world!
First a huge gasp, then silent screams, then groaning, crying and gnashing of teeth :)
