Cactus plant. All it needs is plenty of sunshine and water once a month. Do not have to be fertilized.
-
Philodendrons, hard to kill. If you have small children or houseplant eating pets: Spiderplants are a close second.

The easiest and most common house plant would be the Spdier Plant. Don't worry it has nothing to do with actual spiders, it is just called that because of what it looks like. It doesn't have anything that blooms or flowers. Those kinds of plants are always harder to take care of. Hope you have fun in your search and enjoy the plant you decide on.

Schefflera. I have had one at work now for 28+ years. It gets watered once a week. It gets a little fertilizer once a decade or so. I've made cuttings for others (they easily root in plain water). They can also withstand not being watered for a couple weeks. The only thing they don't like is cold, less than 30°F. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schefflera I got this picture off the internet.
