Have you ever spent lots of time and thought on an answer, gave what your thought was a perfect answer or came up with something you thought was witty, only to have it totally ignored on AB?

That sometimes happens. Sometimes, a question or answer will be resurrected after days or weeks. It's just part of AB.

Meh, shit happens. There are so many people on here with so many questions and so many different answers that if by chance mine doesnt get rated im not going to make a deal out of it. Dont sweat the small stuff.

yes. many times. i have nine pages of unpointed answers (but 35 pages of pointed ones). granted, not all of these are "perfect" answers or perhaps even "witty". however, i dont mind. some people are not into giving points (i dont agree with their miserliness in spirit at all). others, who are new to the site and might not get the point concept yet, dont award them either. just because you dont get points doesnt mean no one read the answer. its possible someone out there appreciated it very much. or if it did get lost in the mix with all the other q&a here, it might get some attention way down the road. happens all the time. i wouldnt worry about it. i think at the very least the questioner should have the courtesy to say thanks to acknowledge your answer. but some people werent raised right ~ im not going to expend too much energy over ill-mannered people. if you enjoy the site and plan on staying, you might want to build relationships with people here and extend friend requests. by doing so, your q&a will pop up on their radar and get more visibility. welcome to answerbag :)

I wouldn't say the perfect answers because what's perfect to me might suck to someone else but I have spent several minutes putting heart and detail into answers and not get pointed or even acknowledged. It does bother me because it basically says the time you took to answer the question isn't important and I don't care.
