The very serious answer is that we should feel sorry for them, because they felt so little of themselves, and so much of someone who never EARNED the kind of admiration he received from them. +5

I understand that some women did the same thing when Rudolph Valentino died. Very sad. I cannot explain it except that people identify very strongly with celebrities and invest way too much of their emotional well-being in their one-sided relationship with said celebrities.

I think it's coincidental. There are many suicides, for many reasons, the press, and more likely the record companies, focus on people who just happened to have a Jackson CD in their collection, and try to create this hysteria over crazy fans. I remember they done the same thing with Take That, it was all just to get Take That column inches in the newspapers, they used a young girl's suicide and linked it to their breaking up, it was totally out of order. I would not be surprised if Sony were behind this in some way, we're talking of a company, who upon hearing of Jackson's death, said they'll quickly release a 3-disc MJ set, totally oblivious to how bloody offensive that is, "Oh, is MJ dead? Let's pocket out of this, release a boxset", despicable.
