  • Don't clean games with alcohol. Toothpaste is good for filling in scratches...
  • my suggestion is to take your friends game to the nearest video game rental shop and ask them if they will put it in thier cleaner. almost all rental places have them and most of the time they wont mind letting you use it. these machines actualy hit the cd with a laser and remove the scratches. it is amazing how well they work.
  • maxhell's answer is very good. i suggest you NEVER try a disk doctor or similar device (without extensive practice, they are very easy to destroy your disks), nor trying to remove it with solvents and cloth to rub with.
