I bought a cotton white/ blue boys appliqued quilt and want to make a matching girls quilt by coloring around the appliques pink/purple. Dont want to dye the whole thing and ruin the appliques. How to color the fabric around with permanent washable color?

Permanent color fabric paint comes in bottles with narrow tops, so you can use them just like crayons to paint around the appliqués. You can also find fabric paint in tubes that are used exactly like felt tip pens. Sometimes they have a round ball point tip to dispense the paint just right.
