On July 4th,1776, King George entered into his diary," Nothing of significance occurred today".

    Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the 4th of July, a few hours apart.

    Well, duh!! King George was 3,000 miles away at the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
