Who are you looking for? Some writers are quite accessible. Others, not so. Which writer do you want to contact?

No, I don't know any of them, other than Judy Blume (she is working with Planned Parenthood on a specific campaign about sex education). I do know some authors and poets. If you have books on hand by authors, check online, or on the book cover itself for contact info for the author. You can write to them via the publisher. Many times they will respond. I meet authors and musicians and film people regularly, so I have bunches of friends who publish, record, act, etc.... but then, I'm a Geezer, so don't think it's special... I've been in the arts for 40+ years. - One way to reach authors is to find out what they work on besides writing. Here is a link to planned parenthood and it has Judy Blume's letter on it. You might be able to write to PP and ask them to forward a letter from you to Ms. Blume. - I have a fave author: Peter Matthiessen. He wrote numerous books, the first I read was The Snow Leopard. Many years later, I heard he worked with an organization I was a member of. I sent the head of the organization a letter asking if a letter from me could be forwarded to Mr. Matthiessen. The organization did send my letter to him, and he and I began to write to each other. Authors LOVE to know that their work is appreciated. All you have to do is ask.... (There are some authors who never respond to mail. One is Salman Rushdie).
