I know several people who are the 4th and the 6th of October but none on the 5th!!!!!!!

I was born within a week of 10/5, as were a few other people I know (my family would celebrate "Libra day" to combine birthday celebrations). My theory about this is that New Year's Eve drunkenness leads to 'doing the Wild Thing' which leads to lots of 'bundles of joy' popping out on or around Oct. 5...;-D...

Although the numbers can vary slightly year-to-year, it is almost always summer and fall months that have the highest birthrates. (they reference http://www.allbaby.com/babyinfo/birthstatistics.htm) So I guess US parents are pretty busy gettin' busy from Halloween 'til New Year's - I would have thought it would be a different season

I was born that day and I 2 of my friends in high school had the same birthday. I've also met 8 other people as an adult with that same birthday. And I know a lot of people born on the 4th and the 6th.

i was born on October 5th, my best friend was born a week after mine, my boyfriends brother is a day after me, his nephew is the third, my sisters is on 9/11, and my moms is on oct 29th. so September and October are very busy months! i didnt know it was likely i was conceived on New Years though...thats kinda sick.

The reason they say Oct. 5 is the most common bithday of the year is....because its the gestation period following a very happy new year.....

I was born October 5, 1965...it's the most common birthday because we were conceived on or around New Year's Eve/Day...just like my parents told me, after a few martinis on New Year's Day...lol
