Should smoking be allowed in jails? Is it fair to not allow you smoke at such a stressful time?

• Someone just DR'd me for this. Okay, you win, let's give everyone cigarettes in jail. What about the non smokers is the side stream filth they have to inhale their punishment?

• Yeah I screwd up but am getting locked up for it in a few weeks. Just think it is a mean thing to do - I'm only 19 but I've been smoking 5 years now and it will be tough to quit with everything else going on. In any of the movies you see people smoking in jail or prison so used to assume you could until I ended up there overnight and they took them off me.

• I know it won't be easy, but look at it this way .. maybe a good way to quit! I'm sure you won't be alone ... there will be lots of guys in the same boat ... having to stop.

• I guess so - loads of guys detoxing! Could be worse if I did drugs I suppose. One thing my gf will be happy about - she doesn't like smoking!
