Usually, how long does it take for a family to put up their house for sale, for someone to buy the house and to move to a different state?

It can take anywhere between a week and a couple of months depending on the size of the house,price,ammount of buyers,how far the family intends to move etc.Last time our family moved it took about 3 weeks.

Depends on the area and the demand's in that area - there is a lot that goes along with selling a house - GTA - There's no telling how long really

I would have to disagree with Darth, and agree with pattjo. You can have the best house in the world, and no one will buy it for years. you have got to have the demand in your area for your house to sell. where I do agree with darth is the type of house the condition etc... Example: I sold my house in miami,FL and it took us 4 months, not too bad, but the market was there. nowadays, the market has gone way low. just depends on the area, the property value, the value of the house itself, condition, etc...
