Are we in charge now? My cat eats, sleeps on our bed, eats, goes outside and sleeps, eats and gets carried to her bed to go to sleep, with a snack of hard kibble to clean her teeth and a nice brush. For this, she has caught about a dozen mice in her entire 14 years, and just looked cute. I say cats rule..they do not need opposable thumbs. LOL

There would be no point putting pets in cages to take them to the vet because they would be able to undo them, themselves, the cat/dog food would disappear alot faster, and all our food too and it would be easier to teach my dog how to open doors! Then again Gorillas have fingers and thumbs that they can use, and they still haven't taken over yet despite their intelligence...unless you consider having a monkey in office being in charge...I wouldn't know. Sorry I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm sure Mr Bush is a very nice man...

There was a cartoon years ago called "cats with hands." They had filled the kitchen sink to overflowing, had can-opened all the cans, had pried up the kitchen tile, had taken all the money out of people's wallets, and many more villainies. And this was BEFORE internet. Consider this: Your cat does not need thumbs to hack into your online accounts.......
