G'day Antigone Rising, Thank you for your question. Six Sigma is a management program aiming to reduce product defects. It started in Motorola in 1986 with a program to reduce defects in computer chips to below 3.4 per million. The program has been widely adopted by corporations most notably General Electric under Jack Welch. The program has six main points: * Critical to Quality: Attributes most important to the customer * Defect: Failing to deliver what the customer wants * Process Capability: What your process can deliver * Variation: What the customer sees and feels * Stable Operations: Ensuring consistent, predictable processes to improve what the customer sees and feels * Design for Six Sigma: Designing to meet customer needs and process capability I have attached sources for your reference.
