Hard to say. When I first got HL2 a few years ago I had a Dell Inspirion 6000 laptop with a 1.86GHz processor, 512MB of RAM (which I upgraded to 2GB) and a 48GB hard drive (but I got a 500GB external) - I could run HL2 at full texture detail and lowest everything else at about 60FPS. Don't play the game until you have a good enough computer to remember the experience of the game with though.
