Losing weight will not make you taller.

Correcting your posture, and carrying yourself with confidence will make you SEEM taller. But short of very painful and expensive surgical procedures, you cannot change your height.

There is no reason on EARTH to try to be less than 100 lbs at your height and at your age. Sorry to be so blunt, but if you lose too much weight, you can mess up your menstrual cycle and really damage your health (your liver and kidneys not the least).

Also, if you look at many of the questions here on AB, or even ask the guys you know, MOST GUYS DON"T WANT TOOTHPICKS. Fertility is attractive, meaning they like curves, not stringbeans.

Please, don't worry. Your body is beautiful just the way it is. You don't need to be taller, slimmer, bigger, blonder, straighter, curlier or anything. If we all looked the same, none of us would be attractive. It's variety that is beautiful, all of our little differences.

If you weigh less than air you will float up, making you look taller. Might be hard to achieve though.

Losing weight won't make you taller. Could it be you've put on weight in preparation for a growth spurt?
Anyway, 90-95 pounds is too thin for your height. We're the same height and I was about that weight in high school (not on purpose--I have ADD and the meds I took for that back then killed my appetite). I looked too thin, lacked energy and always wanted to gain 10 pounds. I didn't have any guys even look at me until I went to college and got up to 105, which was still a little skinny.

Lots of good advice here, but what's with the tall? Don't you know that the definition of "cute" is pretty AND LITTLE? (That's why everyone love kittens and puppies, even if they don't like cats and dogs.) Teenage girls generally have no business trying to lose weight--they wind up with an eating disorder or a lifelong weight problem. Seek moderation in all things.

I agree, what's so great about tall?

Now that you mention it, a woman was taken aback when she met the prime minister of Great Britain, David Lloyd George. "Oh!" she said. "I always thought you were a much taller man!"
"Madam," he replied, "some men are measured from the neck UP and some from the neck DOWN."

Exactly! And I should know, I'm 5'0!

You cannot do a single thing to make you grow taller.
You could look at your posture (slouching shoulders etc.) which may be affecting how tall you get measured at, but no losing weight or gaining weight or whatever will influence your height.

My dear--after World War II, the average Japanese grew to be eight inches taller than his grandfather. And do you know why? It wasn't because he was eating LESS. It was because he was eating MORE AND BETTER. It takes minerals from dairy products to grow longer bones and it takes protein to put muscle on those bones. Dieting to get taller makes no sense at all. If you are in fact getting shorter (which is a little ahrd to believe at your age) it may be because you aren't eating right.

well losing weight is eating correctly and excerising. Me also being 14 tried eating right and excersising but the eating right was hard. You need to focus very hard on your goal and you can achieve it. Growing taller, well, I suppose it depends on what you eeat and how much of it u eat. i thnik vegetables make u taller but im not too sure, besides, i hate vegetables!

At 14 yrs. young bieng 115 lbs. is perfectally fine and in proper wieght guidelines. You for some reason think you are fat and yet you are not, but we all can tell you that and it will not do you a bit of good. I would start with your guidance counselor at school and get thier thoughts and if you are not in agreement with thier answers then go to a Family Physician and ask all the questions you want to, all is confidential. You do not need to go to your family Dr., go to someone who has no history oh you at all, good luck.

You are definetly not getting shorter and you're not short in the first place. Im 14 also and Im at the most 5 foot 1/2 inches. And im guessing you weigh around...105? That is perfect. Im 103ish i think i may have lost a bit of weight in the past month or so, but I have been told by my doctor that I am a perfect weight for my height, a little teeny bit under, but thats it. So it sounds as if your weight is perfect. And, if you want to seem taller just wear clothes that make you appear to be taller. Certain jean styles (straight leg) are good for that. And don't wear big bulky shoes either like Vans or World Industries because those make u look shorter also. But, be proud to be short! i know i am!
