Question

Help answer this question below.

I got a deed to a plot of land up in Alaska, and I don't know how to go about finding where it is or any other information about it. Does any one know how/where to do that?

a deeded plot, if legal, must have been surveyed, is there a # on it somewhere and have you tried searching it as a survey number which would give you the co-ordinates?

If it is written more like a story, chances are that legal ownership was never recorded - and my advice to you is, good luck on that.

This website is a good place to begin your search:

    http://www.blm.gov/ak/st/en.html

Your deed SHOULD give you the precise longitude and latitude for your property, so it can easily be plotted on conventional maps.

Congratulations on becoming a land owner up there!
