    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, Will Smith. (What's this?)

The 1983 Audi Quatrro Turbo. Sadly, after one tweak too many, the engine just gave up after a catastrophic piston failure...big-end failed, crankshaft mashed the piston up etc...sad face.

1984 Mercury Cougar, fuel injected 5.0 v-8. 3 of my kids learned to drive in this car, and the engine was seized twice due to overheating. At just over 300,000 miles it was sold to a friend for $500, still running, and still able to melt the rear tires as long as you wanted to keep your foot on the floor.

I had a 1965 3.4 S Type Jaguar. When I bought it in 93 it had done 11200 miles, was 1 lady owner from new.Had MOT certificates which showed from year to year on one occasion 140 miles. It was kept by the owner in the car park of the Hotel she lived for a number of years. All in all it was totally genuine. I had to sell it when I moved abroad in 97 - it had then done 15k miles ....ahhhhhh. Cant resist it here's a pic of the one I let get away. I hope the pics attached.

    Well that depends..
I was actually the kid in high school who wanted something with good MPG so I wouldnt always be filling up. So i had a Ford Focus.
Then I moved to Amarillo, and needed a vehicle to get me through the snow cuz the Focus just wasnt cutting it, so I bought a Silverado.
And before that, I inherited my Corvette which well, is just flat out fast...

All of these cars are great! But each has their pros and cons. If they had a 4x4 that could get 30-40 mpg and was lightning quick, you bet I would be the first to buy it!

1956 Volkswagen. I only ever had to replace a few burned out exhaust valves, but nothing else ever went wrong with it over a 20 or so year period. When I bought a farm, I let the registration lapse and just used it as a 'paddock-basher' for fifteen years or so, and then gave it to a neighbour's son who re-registered it, gave it a spray-job, and as far as I know is still driving it around.

I've had two S-10 Blazers. They were very reliable cars. My current car is a Honda Accord Coupe. So far it has been a joy to own. My only gripe are the seats a bit hard.

My first Saturn (1993) was a real good car even though it rattled slightly. No mechanical problems until 113,000 miles. My second wasn't as good, so I switched to a Hyundai Sonata, which I like a lot!

We bought Oldsmobiles over the years that were real good, but they're no longer made.

My favorite car was a 1989 Honda CRX Si. It made every drive, no matter how short, an adventure.

The best car I ever owned (recently sold) was a 2004 Mazda 3 (5-door).

My '91 Civic Wagon. It had 4WD, lot's of cargo space, and yet was tiny and maneuverable. It had decent get-up-and-go, but it got 33 MPG. Until the timing belt snapped, there was no stopping that little thing.

    I'm depressed now. Thank you.
