Saxaphone, ever since I played baritone sax in high school, I've been hooked on the sound of a good sax. I have got to get back into playing sax, I really miss it.
-
To me, the instrument with the most beautiful sound is the Kora, an African string instrument played by the griots of West Africa, in Senegal, Mali and other countries of that region. Its sound is so beautiful that it is limited to a small range of music only, but that is very nice. Its tones are very gentle and create a lot of space.
-
Classcial piano music.
-
The digaradoo.
-
I love the electric 12-string guitar (e.g., as played by Jimmy Page in Stairway to Heaven). I also love the Andean flute which I think was played in El Condor Pasa by Simon & Garfunkle and in All Good Things by Nellie Furtado.
-
For some reason, the violin. I especially like it when it's thrown in there with electric guitars and what not.

As part of an orchestra, I really like flutes, they have a unique soul no other instrument can really touch on. As part of a band, I love lead guitar. The old screaming solos will never get old with me, modern metal is missing out IMO. By itself, drums, quick tribal beats especially make me want to hop around the house like an idiot screaming battle chants in Swahili
-
The piano, if it is played by one of the great classical pianist. That is an art above all. But over the long haul, I prefer listening to a great rock guitarist.
-
I've always enjoyed the organ, ever since I was introduced to Ken Griffin's style of playing one. I know that they aren't popular anymore, but his playing always puts a smile on my face. So ... Ken Griffin - "Barcarolle"

The organ. Its great variety of tone colors, ability to play a variety of styles, etc. make it a favorite. I know, its association with church caused it to fall from favor, but still, a great instrument. Some of the greatest composers wrote for the organ, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Widor, Buxtehude, Saint-Saens.
