Could it be a dirty fuel line? Try cleaning it out with an air blower at a gas station (like what you inflate tires with) or the equivalent.

Make sure the airfilter isn't too clogged-up. Mine had the same symptom, and it was the air filter.

Possibly needs a carburetor rebuild. It may have a bad diaphragm or float valve.

any water in the gas tank/lines?
