Do you think the LDS church is a religious organization, or just another business selling Christianity?

Well, being that I’m a member of said Church (the Church of Jesus Christ), I think my feelings on the subject pretty much go without saying. :-)

I think that it's a religion based Mind Control Cult whose founder (a professional Con Man) cleverly embedded a mandatory tithe into it's core doctrine so that it would make lots and lots and lots of money. I also think that those who are in it are blinded by that founder's remarkable charisma, clever manipulations, and genius for deception. And no one was a bigger victim of that charisma, manipulation, and deception than the founder himself. He LITERALLY believed his own lies.

Well, it is a religious organization! 2. It is a business, of sorts! 3. But I do not believe it is selling anything. Our Missionaries go from home for two years at their own expense. Not paid by the Church. 4. Oh, yes we do sell Books of Mormon when ever we can, just for the printing costs. But actually, the missionaries give them to their investigators. So I guess they really do not sell anything. Oh well 3 out of 4 ain't too bad...Later

Well, I know they will pretty much sell anything else, if it will make a buck. And if there was any real Christianity in the church, they'd be selling it. Too bad there isn't any (that I've ever seen anyway.)

Whatever they are selling- lots of people are buying it because they have enough money to own huge tracts of land, many, many businesses, and only God (and their profit) know what else. People who have tried to research it (Like the authors of "The Mormon Corporate Empire") say it is impossible to find it all.

I don't think it's Christianity they are selling. I think it is joseph smith. Real Christianity doesn't teach (correct me if I'm wrong here) that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. It doesn't teach "drawing your thumb across your throat", agreeing to have it cut-ear to ear- if you give up the secrets of the Church. It doesn't teach multiple wives (like smith did). It doesn't teach that you will become a God on your own planet. (Although that's an interesting concept for those who have a serious "need" for power over their own "subjects".) It doesn't teach there is NO HELL. In fact I believe "in real Christianity" Jesus said People wouldn't believe in it, even if Someone came back from the dead.
