  • Darwin's based on reality as we know it.Adam and Eve is a good fairly tale. The first one has bases in logic, the second in a good imagination,a sort of modern day "Lord of the Rings".
  • Darwin. Because Adam & Eve never existed and I've seen evidence of the Darwin theory.
  • Darwin, but I also believe in God.
  • I believe the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is the closest thing we have to explain the diversity of life on earth. I believe this because I have done research and have seen some of the mountains of evidence in support of this theory. - I do not believe Adam and Eve ever existed. I do not believe in them because I have done research and have not found any evidence at all that the story is true.
  • The Evolutionary theory, first described by Darwin. The evidence for it is overwhelming. The only evidence for Adam and Eve is one book, the earlier part of which are obviously folk tales.
  • I believe in evolution, but I don't believe that we came from a clop of stuff. That makes as much sense as being created or manufactured out of dumb clay and having some kind of intelligence blow life into us. However, It makes more sense to me, and is inclusive of all human beings, that we arise from this intelligent earth in much the same way as an apple tree apples. The earth peoples! It is a an intelligent process! Imagine if you will, many millions of yrs. ago and a vessel from outer space flew close to this planet. They reported that there was no intelligent life here, nothing but rocks. Fast forward to the present day. On a return trip they visit again but are astounded. They recognize that there is indeed intelligent life about. They report that the rocks on this planet, they thought had no intelligence, have peopled.
  • There is no reason why both theories cannot co-exist. I believe they do, just not as interpreted by most people. Unfortunately, the detailed explanation would be too long to go into here.
  • Mostly I don't think we are yet. And I certainly don't 'believe' either option. It is perfectly OK for myself that I don't have an answer to this even though I could make a very good best guess based on empirical evidence. It does not affect how it is that I am in any case. Would I give a body block to an abortion clinic protester? Yes indeed I would - and have. I understand that without thinking about it. Am I different because I evolved or didn't? No idea.... I came first, then all the ideas I have about it came later. This is enough to know without having to believe anything.
  • I believe both of them. SOmeone had to come first, regardless of their names. And, why can't a species evolved from how they are created? +5
  • Darwin because of the scientific evidence.
  • Darwin. The imagination that we are product of long series of incestuous relationships and created from dirt and ribs does not make me feel englightened in any way.
  • Evolution hands down, and it pisses me off when people try to say they believe in both, when they comepletely conflict eachother. Evolution has scientific date to support it. While adam and eve merely have one story book to support their theory.
  • Darwin Why? the Verification principle
  • I am a product of evolution - just as everything on this planet is. As far as Adam and Eve: mitochondrial DNA proves that origins of human species can be traced to an individual woman. (for those who do not know, mitochrondrial DNA traces maternal lineage as opposed to paternal). So we call our female ancestor "Eve". Who care what she is called; the proof is that we all have evolved from a very small gene pool proves only one thing: we are all brothers and sisters. If religion exists to instill in humans that we are all united, and if religion is the only way some people can grasp the concept, then I guess religion is it - for them. For those of us humans who can work within scientific concept, we can be comfortable with mitochondrial DNA evidence, see it as evolution, AND allow those with a more simplistic approach their "Adam and Eve".
  • Adam and Eve. Because God knows more than Darwin did.
  • Darwin. Why? Evolution has evidence, adam and his side-kick, rib-woman, have a story book.
  • Darwin is not a thory now it is real and proven adam and eve KIDS according to the book of lies had to be insetuous to populate the planet earth. you do know that interbreeding created degenerated minds so yet again with the number of believers who knows ?
  • I have my own theory based on both... look up umpda and yala in my past q and a's
  • I believe in the Theory of Evolution. I believe it because there is a mountain of evidence to support the notion of evolution and natural selection. You can see it right before your eyes. Real, tangible evidence. With every year that goes by, we get more evidence. The story of Adam and Eve, on the other hand, is backed up by nothing whatsoever. It is just a story written in a book.
  • Darwin...even though it's not called "Darwin theory;" there's a whole lot more to it now than what Darwin contributed to it. "Darwin theory," is based in reality. I'm getting really sick of the word "evidence," but evolution has it and Adam and Eve don't. So, why would I believe that we are all descended from a dirt man and a rib woman?
  • Both are theories and both are correct.See half of this world believes in one and the other believes in another so who can say who is right. The fanatics fight for one and the scientist fight for another and the fight goes on and people who want to create trouble just keep on scratching the wound often! They love the controversy a lot!
  • Evolution for me ... logic and evidence win the day everytime
  • Darwin's theory is no longer a theory, DNA proves it.
  • Darwin. What Adam and Eve? I've seen NO evidence for them.
  • i believe in the theory of evolution because there is DNA proof and fossils to back it.+5
  • Evolution is only theoretical. A theory can be disproved. I believe in Adam and Eve. God knows what happened in the "beginning".
  • In the 1880's Darwin predicted the that one day, the remains of ape men would be found in sub-sarahan Africa. In 1924, Raymond Dart found the remains of an ape in South Africa which walked on two legs like us, but which had a brain the size of chimpanzee (450 cc).He named the ape Australopithecus. Since then, many other Austropithecines have been found in South Africa,Ethiopia, Chad, Keyna and Tanzania. As well as this, fossils of other species of humans have been found in Africa.Homo Habilis had a brain of about 700 cc and Homo Erectus had a brain of about 1000 cc compared with 1400 cc for modern humans. Also, we can be sure that humans were not designed by God due to the presence of many design faults in the human body. For example, think of how many people need to wear glasses to see properly or how many people get backaches. Thirdly, humans share 96-98% of our genes with chimpanzees and gorillas.
  • I believe that Adam and Eve are part of an allegory to try and explain big concepts in a time when science was too limited to put them in to words I do not believe they are literal figures. I believe in the theory of evolution for the many reasons laid out in other answers here.
  • darwin does not have evidence where's the missing link? But they do have tuns of historicial evdience for the Bible "stories" as you call them. Sodom and Gamororah the flood etc. Why don't you read In the Beginning by Walt Brown, Ph.D. compelling Evidence for creation and the flood
  • I am inclined to go with Adam and Eve. The Garden of Eden suggests that Eden was a special place as well. The Original Source for life is in the area described in the Bible as where the Garden of Eden began.
