The whole basis of the Protocols is that there is a global Zionist conspiracy that includes finance and media. If you accept that premise then it's easy to question the legitimacy of the "eminent scholars and historians". Convenient.
I think the main reason that people embrace these kinds of theories has little to do with the strength of evidence and a lot more to do with the fact that living in a world of sweeping dramatic conspiracies is far more interesting than the relatively mundane and complicated world we actually inhabit. That's especially true when one casts themselves in the rather heroic role of the oppressed.
Because they (like the authors of the forgery) are anti-Semites.
The same reason that many Americans still believe that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction - 4 years later and they still haven't been found...
People will believe whatever already fits into their world view, if proof to the contrary threatens their world view.
To say that soemeone wrote the Protocols just to blame on the Jews makes zero sense. But for them to deny makes a lot of sense. You think the Jews are going to say yes they are genuine? I mean get real.
It's not whether they wrote them or not if they have followed them> They have been fulfilled. So does it matter to you?

You're reading Why do certain people still believe thar the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is a genuine document? They ave been proved forgeries my eminent scholars and historians, but the myth still perpetuates.
